Capetown, South Africa September 21-25, 2010
Africa represents a continent of vast untapped opportunity for U.S. defense and civil aviation suppliers.
In the past, U.S. companies seeking to expand their African sales could sit back and wait for African buyers to find them at industry trade events in Europe.  That is no longer an option.
Instead, American suppliers who are serious about gaining a foothold in Africa are now proactively promoting their solutions directly to regional decision-makers in an African setting.  And African Aerospace and Defence 2010 (AAD2010), taking place in Cape Town this September, is their venue of choice.

The Department of Defence and the Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa are inviting U.S. companies to deliver their message and demonstrate their products to the region's decision makers and influencers at AFRICA AEROSPACE & DEFENCE 2010 (AAD2010).

Set for 21-25 September 2010 at the Ysertplaat Air Force Base, Capetown, SA, the upcoming event is expected to again host 20 Ministers of Defence, Air Force, Army, and Naval Commanders-in-Chief, and senior Civil Aviation Authority leaders and buyers.

AAD2010 runs over three trade days followed by two days open to the general public. This allows for networking opportunities and face-to-face business interaction. AAD2010 affords exhibitors ample access to official delegations and decision makers.
Sub-Saharan Aviation
Upcoming aviation projects and investment opportunities are abundant in the sub-Saharan African region, including SAAF heavy-lift aircraft procurement, maritime helicopters plus more than 90 major aviation projects underway or in advanced planning stages in 29 counties and 3 regional economic communities. The timeframe for implementation is over the next three years, representing investments totaling approximately US $2.6 billion.

All of the projects present significant commercial opportunities for U.S. aviation suppliers and professional service firms. The project budgets range from US$27 million to US$480 million and include infrastructure upgrades at most international airports in the region, air traffic control and safety improvements, and a number of new international airport initiatives.
