Production Resumes On Boeing 787
The AP (1/30) reported, "Production of Boeing's new 787 jetliner has resumed." On Thursday, employees "finished joining the fuselage and wings for the fifth 787...The plane, along with five other 787s, will be used for testing." Vice president of 787 Final Assembly and Change Incorporation Jack Jones "says that this airplane signals that Boeing has returned to a 'steady production rhythm.'"
Bloomberg News (1/31, Ray) noted, "There are 24 other planes being worked on around the world under Boeing's new supply-chain manufacturing model." The new plane "is the first to have General Electric GEnx engines; the first four will be tested with Rolls-Royce Group engines. Customers can choose between both options."
