Stocks Of Japan's Denfense Firms Jump On North Korea's Nuclear TestBloomberg News (5/25, Ikeda) reported, "Japan's defense-related stocks such as Ishikawa Seisakuso Ltd. and Howa Machinery Ltd. surged in Tokyo trading after North Korea said it conducted a 'successful' test of a nuclear weapon." In "the sharpest advance since Feb. 13," Ishikawa Seisakusho, "which makes weapons for the national defense forces, soared 17 percent to close at 70 yen on the Tokyo Stock Exchange." |
