Tanker

Tanker battle fractures congressional Democrats

Democrats in Congress are publicly berating each other -- as well as the states where the opposition hopes to build a new aerial refueling tanker. When Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., publicly challenged "anybody to tell me that they've stood on a line in Alabama and seen anybody building anything," Alabama lawmakers demanded an apology for her "wrong and ill-informed" opinions. Meanwhile, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., has promised to put a hold on Erin Conaton, the nominee for under secretary of the Air Force and current staff director to Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo.
