Assuming all goes well with the latest restart of the $35 billion KC-X tanker competition, the Air Force says the plane should make its first flight by 2012 and hopes to be flying refueling missions by 2017. Under the current request for proposals, 18 aircraft are to be delivered by 2017. Air Force Times (2/25)
